Dr. Cilla is the current Trustee of the MDA, current Vice President of the MPA, past MDA House of Delegates representative, and past President of the West Michigan Dental Society. He maintains an active membership in the following professional organizations:

Dr. Brian Cilla is a native of West Michigan. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, he earned a BGS with a concentration in Biology. After graduation from the University of Michigan Dental School, Dr. Cilla continued his education and earned a Master’s degree in Periodontology in 1987.

At the completion of the General Dentistry Program, Dr. Cilla accepted an appointment in Periodontics at the University of Michigan as a clinical instructor. While pursuing a Master’s Degree in Periodontology, he practiced general dentistry in Garden City, Michigan and Brooklyn, Michigan.

Before returning to West Michigan, Dr. Cilla had the opportunity to begin his periodontal career with several general dentistry practices located throughout the tri-county Detroit Metropolitan Area.

In 1999, Dr. Cilla returned to West Michigan and established his private practice in Periodontics. His practice has grown to include three locations: Grand Rapids, Grandville and most recently, Muskegon.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Dr. Cilla has been involved with the promotion of interdisciplinary studies. In 1986, he was the Grand Prize winner of the University of Michigan Dental School Table Clinic, presented his work at the International Association of Dental Research meeting in the Netherlands and continued his research at the University of Michigan department of immunology.

Dr. Cilla has also been active in the local Dental Hygiene Associations by sponsoring annual meetings and continuing education programs.

Dr. Cilla and his wife, Francine, reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They have two grown daughters: Anja and Bianca. Both daughters are college graduates and pursuing their careers. Some of Dr. Cilla’s interests include skiing, fishing, hunting, bicycling, listening to music and cooking.
